We are looking for a Commercial Operations Manager to join our Commercial Operations team in Hoofddorp.

In this role you will lead, manage, guide, motivate and inspire a high-performing team based on Neste strategy, values, business requirements and growth. You drive optimal commercial outcome, contract execution, productivity, efficiency, continuous development and competency growth in the team ensuring wellbeing, psychological and general safety, as well as compliance in all operations.

Key accountabilities of the Job:

  • Performance, STI & action planning for the team 

  • Analyses and reports team performance, productivity and activities

  • Person of contact and communicator with internal stakeholders, external counterparties and service partners  

  • Responsible for team short and long term development plan for the optimal set up and activities to manage business volume and complexity growth

  • Resource planning and recruiting 

  • Workload and work time management. Vacation planning, cover and approvals

  • Ensures that each team member has and acknowledges their job description and role

  • Orientation and onboarding of Operations Specialists and team members

  • Organizes regular team meetings with the whole team and with team leads

  • HR topics; including performance, forward and regular 1to1 discussions 

  • Gives, requests and shares feedback. Celebrates, recognizes and awards performance and successes in line with our values.

  • Change management and implementation of agreed actions and activities

  • Develop processes in cooperation with Process Owners, promoting aligned ways of working and create work concepts and ensures team’s common practices according to S2P,  O2C and/or Manage Logistics processes

  • Is proactive towards development, competence growth, decision making and commercial initiatives

  • Actively participates in global Operations team initiatives, e.g. learn and share, infoshare and joint projects

  • Cost efficiencies oversight, improvement where possible and responsibility

  • Other possible responsibilities and tasks assigned by the management

  • Manage performance, wellbeing and inspire the team to achieve the optimal commercial outcome, customer, supplier and/or service partners experience. Resource and retain talent
  • To enable team to grow and manage business growth, increased complexity, volume and/or inventory of supply, sales, shipping and/or terminal transactions. Time management of many challenges in operational work, ensuring capability growth and performance to achieve set targets
  • Decisions on the execution and optimization of the team’s responsibilities, recruitment and ways of working as well as cooperation with stakeholders, performance planning and target setting. Participates and collaborates in the decision making for the Operations community

Minimum requirements:

  • Compatible with Neste vision, values and strategy

  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to lead high-performing multinational and diverse teams

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Supply to Pay, Manage Logistics and Order to Cash chain 

  • Relevant knowledge of the fossil and renewable industry, operations workflow and contract execution 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant area, e.g. from business or technology or extensive comparable industry experience

  • Experience in international commodity environment, operations, logistics and various modes of transport 

  • Have a business, analytical and result oriented mindset 

  • Ability to understand drivers of a commercial trade and associated p&l

  • Ability to prioritize and handle pressure

  • Have an independent, flexible, solution minded and proactive approach to work

  • Understands the impact and importance of operations on Neste’s overall performance

  • Has the courage to deviate from set processes to develop solutions and improved ways of working. Able to coach, mentor, sparr, question and grow competency in team

  • Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills. Virtually and in person

  • Fluency in oral and written English

  • General ERP system knowledge
