We are looking for a Communications Manager for Neste’s dynamic team in North America.

We are the world’s leading producer of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, and developing chemical recycling to combat the plastic waste challenge. We aim at helping customers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions with our renewable and circular solutions by at least 20 million tons annually by 2030.


In North America, Neste is growing fast. We are now looking for a Communications Manager to support delivery of our corporate and business goals in California, Oregon, and Washington (the U.S. West Coast). The West Coast is our primary and most important market in the US.


In your role you will:


  • Manage internal and external communications relating to Neste’s business activities in the US west Coast, with the aim of establishing strong thought leadership around sustainable mobility, sustainability and circularity. 

  • Partner with the Public Affairs team to create the space for delivery on advocacy goals, including development of content of fact sheets, infographics, talking points, presentations, and social media posts.

  • Develop and implement regional Neste reputation and communications plan in established West Coast markets (CA, OR, WA, and BC) and in alignment with country and global plans.

  • Support regional Renewable Aviation and Renewable Road Transport teams to support establishing thought leadership for Neste’s renewables businesses

  • In collaboration with other internal stakeholders, create the space for trusted relationships with priority target groups (partners, end-users, media, NGOs, etc). 

  • Act as regional media spokesperson and Neste’s communications representative in the region.

  • Develop content for internal and external channels, update web content, coordinate social media content and according to the social media strategy to drive thought leadership.

  • Emergency response excellence.

  • Be an indispensable member of the Neste Communications team. Serve as team liaison for internal Sustainability and Corporate Affairs (SCA) teams at the regional and community level.


Education & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience working in communications, public relations, community relations, or a related field in the U.S. West Coast 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing or a related field.

  • Experience in strategic communications, media relations, digital communications, crisis communications and issues management

  • Strong project management skills and experience

  • Strong written and communications skills in English, Spanish is a plus

  • Awareness and interest in circular economy, sustainable transportation, and other sustainable solutions in combating climate change

  • Proactive and energetic approach to work

  • Collaborative, positive attitude and team-oriented ways of working


With Neste’s values in mind, you will coordinate efforts both within the organisation and with external stakeholders to drive a positive impact in the West Coast communities where Neste does business, and enhance Neste’s thought leadership among other things. This will include working closely with Neste’s teams and leadership in the U.S. and globally, as well as with important external stakeholders. 


You will be a member of Neste’s Global Communications team, working alongside a network of talented, passionate individuals to promote Neste’s story. You will report to the Communications Manager, North America.
