We are looking for you, Dispatch Coordinator, to join our Logistics and Operations team in Hutchinson, MN.
You will focus on dispatching our internal Sterling Logistics fleet, along with outside carriers on various loads. In this job you will work closely with the Head of Logistics & Operations, the trading team, rail operations, and Sterling Logistics’ management and internal mechanic shop.
In our team, you will serve as a key logistical link, connecting our supply feedstocks to our transload network, spanning across the midwest, while prioritizing cost efficiency and safe ways or working. Together with your expertise, we can do meaningful work to drive Neste forward.

Your role in our team:

Organize daily schedules, assign workloads, and manage the arrivals and departures of Sterling Logistics’ drivers of your designated region

Coordinate outside haulers when Sterling Logistics is unable to carry the load, ensuring we’re being quoted market-rate freight costs and that we are receiving quality service

Track driver locations throughout their day to ensure they are being efficient in their driving routes and offer optimization of routes based on habits

Offer real-time solutions when unexpected issues arrive, such as equipment breakdowns, sudden product unavailability, driver schedule conflict, etc.

Act as primary point of contact between drivers, suppliers, site managers, mechanics, and internal trading team. This requires high-volume communication via phone, systems, and email.

Maintain internal ERP system with accurate records, uploading shipping documentation in a timely manner, and working with billing team as questions arise.
The best combination to succeed in this role

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Basic knowledge of Google Suite tools, experience with data entry

Strong communication skills (written and verbal) through phone, text, email, and various systems

Ability to work under pressure and real-time problem solving skills
