We are looking for you,

Business Development Specialist

to join our COO Office function, working within the Lignocellulose team. The job will be based in Espoo, Finland.

 

The key purpose of the role is to actively support and enable the commercialisation of a new lignocellulose-to-fuels technology,  creating an attractive and scalable long term growth opportunity for Neste. You will work on various business development activities within the larger team, such as market analysis, product application development, financial analysis, public funding and competitor intelligence. You will work closely with business development colleagues, supply development, technology development as well as various other internal stakeholders to bring this breakthrough innovation to commercial production.

This is an opportunity to be part of a cross-functional, entrepreneurial team, driving one of Neste’s key long term growth programs. Your contribution will play an important  role in ensuring an attractive market position and a competitive technology to unlock access to previously untapped waste & residue raw materials, supporting our ambition to grow as the leader in the renewable fuels sector.

Your role in our team

  • Conduct market research related to key end-use markets & product applications to support commercialization and investment planning

  • Perform detailed feasibility assessments, including cash flow and scenario modelling to support the technology and investment project development

  • Turn complex technical and financial data into concise, high-impact presentations

  • Participate in preparing public funding and grant applications

  • Support the business development team by undertaking analyses on other relevant topics, such as the competitive landscape and regulatory developments 


Keys to success in this role

  • MSc degree from a relevant field, such as business or engineering 

  • Previous work experience in consulting, business development or other relevant roles

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into actionable insights

  • Systematic approach to work and attention to detail, while also seeing the bigger picture

  • Proactive attitude with a high willingness to learn

  • Good collaboration, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent communication skills in English - the role requires presenting sometimes complex information

  • Strong skills in Excel and Powerpoint


Earlier knowledge and experience from renewable fuels markets, regulations and technologies are seen as a benefit.
