IPR professional / (Senior) Corporate Patent Attorney
to join our IPR team in Espoo or Porvoo. Are you passionate about the strategic use of Intellectual Property Rights in enabling innovation? Then the IPR team at Neste is the place for you!
Neste’s IPR function is responsible for the integration of IPR in Neste’s operations and the management of Neste’s IPR portfolio. It has global responsibility for the IPR support of Neste’s existing business units and Innovation organisations. Together with your expertise, we can do meaningful work to drive Neste forward.

Your role in our team

Work with Neste’s inventors to identify innovative technology assets

Draft and prosecute patent applications

Contribute to the management of Neste’s patent portfolio.

Develop, document and deploy IPR strategies and IPR Action Plans for projects and programs

Work closely with Neste’s inventors to identify innovative technology assets and promote the creation of invention disclosures

Provide strategic IPR advisory to existing and emerging businesses and R&D teams

Support due diligence for M&A, venturing, partnerships and collaborations

Work with the business team and the IPR patent attorneys to perform business landscape assessment and risk mitigation studies
The best combination to success in this role

We look for candidates with an excellent educational background to degree level or beyond in chemical engineering, or other domains of relevance for the renewables and environment fields, coupled with practical patent experience in the industry.

A full European Patent Attorney qualification ("EQE") is a plus, but we will also consider candidates with an outstanding professional experience in the relevant industry who have interest in expanding their career in the fascinating field of IPR and possibly pursue a EQE qualification.

English is the official language of Neste and we expect spoken and written fluency.
As a successful candidate, you will show a passion for working closely with Neste’s business and R&D teams in the fields mentioned above. This will require excellent communication and networking skills, business acumen as well as ability to cope with pressure and uncertainty. You will foster compromise and drive decisions involving diverse stakeholders.
