IT Financial Lead
to our CIO Office IT Department in Espoo, Finland.
The goal of the CIO Office is to ensure that Information Technology creates value in business activities. This is accomplished by ensuring Neste uses the right technology and employs effective practices for its delivery and use within an outsourced and internally franchised IT environment.
In this role, you will lead IT Financial Management practices, increase IT cost transparency, and own the financial management tool, Apptio. You will work closely with the IT Leadership team, all IT employees, the Group Financial Planning & Analysis team, and selected IT partners.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning and developing the IT Financial Management (FM) process:
- Collaborating with and coaching IT teams to ensure IT FM processes are followed.
- Driving actions to improve the financial forecasting accuracy for both IT development and operational costs, for instance, by helping to identify and communicate variances between planned and actual costs.
- Supporting the IT Leadership team and mitigating financial risks by providing accurate financial data and analysis for timely decision-making, in close collaboration with the Finance Business Partner.
- Analyzing direct and indirect IT costs for each business unit (e.g., business application, cloud, and server costs) to provide cost transparency for decision-making and dialogue with business stakeholders.
- Owning and developing the IT FM tool (Apptio):
- Maintaining the development backlog and initiating development projects as needed.
- Leading the partner to ensure continuous maintenance, such as upgrades and minor fixes.
- Ensuring compliance with licenses, audits, security requirements, and ITSM processes in the tool's daily operations.
- Managing the IT FM tool's contract and costs.
- Ensuring the tool provides value to business and IT users.
- Driving IT cost optimization through in-depth financial analysis and collaboration with IT stakeholders.
- Supporting the annual planning and IT roadmap process by providing financial data and reports.
Keys to success in this role
- A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field with at least 5+ years of professional experience as an IT financial analyst or manager.
- An understanding of IT Financial Management (ITFM) and Technology Business Management (TBM).
- Experience owning an IT Financial Management tool such as Apptio.
- Strong data mining and analytical capabilities to translate financial data into meaningful insights for informed decision-making.
- Leadership and influencing skills to guide the IT leadership and business unit leaders in taking corrective actions when necessary by providing accurate analysis and timely data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings clearly and succinctly to diverse audiences.
- The ability to question, listen to understand, challenge, and explain complex scenarios clearly.
- Experience working in a global environment and in an organization of Neste's scale.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
