to our CIO Office IT Department in Espoo, Finland. The CIO Office acts as the strategic engine of the Process, Data and IT unit, orchestrating what technology Neste uses and how we deliver it. We combine long-term Enterprise Architecture standards with a robust IT Operating Model - covering performance, portfolio, financial, and IT service data management - to align our IT Departments, partners, and business stakeholders toward creating measurable value.
You will focus on ensuring that our IT Operating Model and governance practices function effectively and evolve to support business agility. You are accountable for optimizing and evolving the frameworks for how Internal IT teams work and governing how they interface with business stakeholders and our external Managed Service Provider/SIAM service. More about the job
Your role in our team
-
Develop the IT Operating Model: Ensure the continuous development of governance, processes, and roles based on best practices. You actively identify structural bottlenecks across the unit and facilitate improvements to our "Ways of Working" to support business agility.
-
Define IT Vendor Governance Practices: Define and maintain the governance framework and "rules of engagement" that ensure the Service Integration and Management (SIAM) model functions effectively. You ensure that standard governance forums and decision-making bodies are defined and active.
-
Drive Role Clarity: Ensure clear responsibilities are defined and understood between IT professionals, business stakeholders, and external partners. You work to ensure everyone knows what is expected of them in collaboratively managing and maintaining IT solutions.
-
Harmonize Ways of Working: Standardize the essential interfaces between Business, IT, and Vendors to prevent operational silos. You ensure that the handshakes between these groups are clearly defined to prevent gaps in service delivery.
-
Champion Organizational Adoption: Lead the Organizational Change Management (OCM) efforts required to ensure that governance structures and new ways of working are actually understood and adopted by the organization.
Keys to success in this role
-
Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Management, Business Administration)
-
Solid understanding of IT operating models and related frameworks (e.g., Business Technology Standard, Gartner IT Operating Model, ITIL, SAFe) with an ability to apply them pragmatically, not just theoretically.
-
Proven experience in designing governance structures and decision-making rights for complex, multi-vendor (SIAM) environments.
-
A strong track record of leading organizational changes and transformations - you know how to get people to adopt new ways of working, not just document them.
-
Experience operating in an international environment and influencing virtual teams without direct line authority.
-
Excellent analytical skills to identify structural bottlenecks and the ability to simplify complex setups into clear roles and responsibilities.
Other strengths we value
-
Facilitation Skills: Ability to lead workshops and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders (Business, IT, Vendors).
-
Communication: Fluent written and spoken English with the ability to translate complex governance concepts into clear business language.
