We are looking for you,

Legal Counsel, IT and Technology

to join Neste’s Legal & Compliance team in Espoo, Finland.

Your role is to proactively provide legal support to Neste's global IT operations and IT procurement, advising on the procurement of IT and professional services, as well as on AI, data and cybersecurity. You will also support Neste's Technology & Innovation organisation on a broad range of matters relating to R&D and IPR, offering you the opportunity to expand your legal skillset in these areas. You will report to the Director, Legal, Technology and also belong to Neste’s global Legal & Compliance team.

 

The Legal, Technology team is the main contact and legal support for Neste’s refineries in Porvoo, Rotterdam and Singapore, and to Neste's COO office, with an emphasis on construction projects, technical and utilities procurement, R&D and IT. We are also a competence center for IPR/ technology related matters across Neste as well as dispute management. We want to be a team that achieves great results and also has fun at work. Your role in our team

  • Provide legal advice and support related to the procurement of IT services, as well as to AI, data and cybersecurity;

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various types of IT and technology/ IPR related agreements;

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as IT, procurement, researchers and project managers and others to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks pragmatically;

  • Participate in the management of disputes, including managing external counsel where necessary;

  • Stay up to date with evolving legal and regulatory developments in IT, data and AI to advise the business on potential impacts and opportunities; and

  • Develop and deliver training for internal stakeholders on legal issues surrounding IT, data and technology


Keys to success in this role

  • Master's degree in law

  • A minimum of 3 years of post-degree experience specialising in IT contracting. Experience in general technology and/or IPR is considered and advantage

  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, including an excellent command of English

  • High integrity paired with a business-minded approach and a proactive, collaborative style of working

  • A pragmatic, can-do attitude, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the agility to succeed in a fast-evolving commercial environment
