Summer Trainee, Commercial Development

to our Product Management and Commercial Development - team in Espoo location. We are a team of 6 professionals dedicated to Neste product offering and product related business development.

Your role during the summer

You will support our team and have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in the energy sector, working at the intersection of renewable and oil products commercial and business development in the Nordic region. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop both analytical skills and collaboration/communication skills. 

As a Summer Trainee, you will focus on supporting the annual sales terms negotiation process for our Nordic business region. You will work closely with Neste’s sales and commercial development teams, providing analysis and insights that help the business achieve the best possible outcomes in annual sales negotiations.

Your tasks include

• Gathering, analysing and updating data, assumptions and forecasts together with the commercial development team

• Analysing key drivers such as pricing, customer demand, supply/demand balances, regulation and broader market fundamentals

• Producing structured analyses (e.g., competitor analysis, market demand analysis, pricing analysis) to support negotiation planning and decision-making

• Supporting to prepare clear and well-structured presentations and materials based on findings for internal stakeholders

• Collaborating with other business units when needed, and depending on your interests, you may also have the opportunity to contribute across additional topics

The best combination to succeed in this role is

• You are currently studying (or have recently studied) business, engineering or another relevant field

• You have excellent communication skills in Finnish and English, and you enjoy working cross-functionally

• You are motivated to learn and deepen your understanding of energy markets

• You have strong analytical skills and some experience in project-based work (from studies, internships or work experience)

• You are proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and PowerPoint / Google Slides (Power BI is considered a plus)

• Previous experience in business/commercial development and energy markets are valued, but not mandatory

The job is located in Keilaranta, Espoo, with excellent transport connections. Currently we work regularly at least three days a week at the office to ensure seamless collaboration and sense of belonging.

The position follows the collective agreement for senior salaried employees. If you are in the early stages of your studies, the minimum starting salary is 2350 EUR. Your salary will also depend on relevant work experience and, for students, the number of completed course credits.

 We welcome applications from both current students and those who have graduated after 1st January 2025. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment. The summer job typically takes place between May 1 and September 30, 2026.
