Summer trainee, Legal Commercial

to our Legal Commercial team in Espoo. Neste’s Legal & Compliance is a unit of approx. 28 professionals dedicated to supporting Neste’s global businesses in legal and compliance matters. Legal Commercial team is responsible for supporting commercial activities, including sales, supply, trading and logistics and acts as a competence center for contract process and trade sanctions.

Your role during the summer

You will support your team and get the opportunity to deepen your own expertise in contract law and trade sanctions. 

As a Summer Trainee, Legal Commercial you will focus on various contract matters in a global context, eg. by drafting, reviewing and commenting agreements, doing legal research, updating internal instructions and playbooks.   

Additionally, depending on workload and needs, you may support other teams within Neste Legal & Compliance in matters relating to various corporate law matters, procurement and compliance.  

The best combination to succeed in this role

• Law student currently in the latter stage (year 3 ->) of your studies

• Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English

• Motivated, responsible and independent approach to your work

• Motivation to learn and deepen your knowledge in contract law and trade sanctions

• We also value previous work experience in the legal industry (in-house or business law firm) but it is not mandatory

The job is located in Keilaranta, Espoo, with excellent transport connections. Currently we work regularly at least three days a week at the office to ensure seamless collaboration and sense of belonging. 

The position follows the collective agreement for senior salaried employees. If you are in the early stages of your studies, the minimum starting salary is 2350 EUR. Your salary will also depend on relevant work experience and, for students, the number of completed course credits. We welcome applications from both current students and those who have graduated after 1st January 2025. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment. The summer job typically takes place between May 1 and September 30, 2026.
