Summer trainee, Sourcing Growth & Excellence, Renewable Feedstocks Sourcing & Trading
to our Processes and Capabilities team in Espoo, Finland.
Our global Sourcing & Trading team executes an essential role in Neste’s business by ensuring the supply of sustainable, renewable feedstocks to our refineries globally. As our trainee you will join the Processes and Capabilities team which supports our regional Sourcing organisations by maintaining and developing our feedstock sourcing related capabilities, tools and core operative processes. Our team is based at the headquarters in Espoo, Finland, and interacts with stakeholders in our Sourcing organisation and beyond across several Neste locations.
Your role during the summer
You will support our team and get the opportunity to deepen your own expertise within the areas of global supply chain management, commodity markets as well as industrial sourcing tools and process development.
As a Summer Trainee, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency and competitiveness of our renewable feedstock sourcing operations. Your focus will be on maintaining and enhancing the performance of our core operative processes. This includes addressing operative issues and identifying opportunities to deliver added value to our regional sourcing teams. We encourage you to shape this role around your unique talents to find new ways of delivering value to our global sourcing network.
Depending on your skillset, you could:

Support our core operative processes concerning renewable feedstock sourcing, such as volume and price forecasting, supplier life cycle management as well as delivery and payment related activities

Tackle real-world operative challenges as they arise, ensuring our daily operations remain agile and resilient.

Drive improvements to our core materials, tools and reports, developing both your analytical and communication skills.

Partner with team members on deep-dive analysis for development projects.

Support in sourcing process performance KPI calculations and develop continuous improvement in reporting.

Act as a substitute for the Feedstock Processes and Capabilities team representatives during the summer holiday season, e.g. in their daily work and in development projects.
The best combination to succeed in this role

You are currently studying or have studied a relevant field of study such as Economics & Business Administration, Industrial Engineering and Management, or similar

Excellent communication skills in English
-
Professional experience from positions that demonstrate good teamwork skills, stakeholder management and ability to lead your own work

Any experience within the domains of e.g. Sourcing or Sales, Commodities management, Supply chain management or Logistics and Operations is considered as an advantage

Motivation and keen interest in working in a global organization focused on commodity supply chains and related operative development

Good analytical skills and experience from using the most common IT tools especially for data analysis, such as Excel, Google Sheets and PowerBI

The job is located in Keilaranta, Espoo, with excellent transport connections. Currently we work regularly at least three days a week at the office to ensure seamless collaboration and sense of belonging.
The position follows the collective agreement for senior salaried employees. If you are in the early stages of your studies, the minimum starting salary is 2350 EUR. Your salary will also depend on relevant work experience and, for students, the number of completed course credits. We welcome applications from both current students and those who have graduated after 1st January 2025. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment. The summer job typically takes place between May 1 and September 30, 2026.
