We are looking for you,


Technology Development Manager


to our Chemical Recycling team at Espoo, Finland or Dusseldorf, Germany in Renewable Polymers and Chemicals business


In our team, you will support building a winning combination of chemical recycling related processes to accelerate commercial technology deployment and capacity scale-up. Together with you and your expertise, we can make an impact today and keep our promises for tomorrow.


Neste is a solution provider for chemical recycling of plastic waste, and by 2030, Neste has the ambition to process over 1 million tonnes of waste plastic to feedstocks for new polymers and chemicals. Chemical Recycling is a fast growing, entrepreneurial team within Neste Renewable Polymers and Chemicals (RPC) business. Efficient and reliable technologies are in a key role in building an end-to-end technical solution. In addition to working with external partners, Neste is also internally developing proprietary processing technologies for upgrading.

Your role in our team

  • Steer R&D and proprietary technology development at Neste Innovation and Neste Engineering Solutions 
  • Lead or support creation and validation of technologies to mature them for commercial deployment 
  • Ensure alignment of different technologies being developed, and their deployment projects 
  • Provide expert support for commercial deployment projects and capacity scale-up
  • Identify and evaluate potential partners and new technology opportunities together with Neste Innovation
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for creating unique intellectual property
  • Ensure internal support, resourcing and contract frameworks for collaboration
  • Participate in defining technology strategy for Chemical Recycling

 

Keys to success in this role

  • Master’s degree from a relevant field, e.g. Engineering, Technology, Chemistry
  • Good knowhow and experience on engineering, process design and/or concept development of oil refining and/or petrochemical technologies
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Strategic mindset, ability to understand the big picture, and ability to adapt to evolving technology and business environment
  • Advanced collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Fluent written and spoken command of English
     

Other strengths we value

  • Ability to understand complex technology concepts and communicate them concisely and understandably to non-engineers 
  • Understanding of chemical recycling technologies
  • Understanding and/or experience of petrochemicals
  • Experience with carrying out investment projects  
  • Experience with intellectual property
  • Presentation skills 
  • Willingness to travel
