We are looking for a Land Logistics Rail Analyst, North America to join our Logistics organization in Houston, Texas.
Your part in Neste’s journey
The Land Logistics Rail Analyst, North America is responsible for assisting in managing and developing Neste’s unitized Rail logistics in North American markets. The Land Logistics Rail Analyst supports creating and implementing the strategy that enables continuous development and growth. This Analyst will need to build on his/her existing relationships and experience in the market of Rail Logistics. This role must ensure seamless integration of business units with land logistics rail capabilities and offerings. Responsibilities include Master Data setup and maintenance, supporting successful negotiations with service providers related to Rail Logistics and ensuring efficient logistics supplier management through efficient follow-up procedures and supporting corrective actions as appropriate.

Your role in our team
- Work as part of the Land Logistics unit to significantly develop and manage Neste’s unitized (Rail) land logistics in North America.
- Assist with successful implementation of the Rail Logistics strategy
Support and develop relationships with Class 1 and Short line Railroads and railcar lessors - Develop and maintain performance management of the Railroads
- Maintain Master Data and ensure transparency between the TMS systems, Global Master Data Team and the Railroads
- Provide onboarding assistance with newly fleeted railcars
- Support accurate market information of the Rail land logistics and practices in the Area to provide insight to Management
- Liaise and collaborate with multiple internal business units locally
- Keep up-to-date knowledge of Industry Standards/General Terms and Conditions for relevant products.
Keys to success in this role
The best combination of experiences, skills and background is
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of working experience in the commercial rail industry
- Prior experience with rail operations/coordination is a plus
- Track and trace experience with Bourque Logistics background is a plus
- Capable of reviewing performance of lanes and service levels, identifying gaps and opportunities
- Familiarity with CFR and car maintenance requirements
- Prior experience in developing and analyzing RFP is a plus
- Strong initiative skills and can work independently
- Must have high attention to detail
- Strong microsoft office skills, with proficiency in Excel/ Google sheets is a must
- Strong stress tolerance and confidence needed to define and, if needed, defend ideas.
- Fluent written and spoken English, other languages are considered as an advantage
- Good Team Player, functioning well in a team environment
