We are looking for you,
(Senior) Process Development Engineer
to our Process Modelling team. We are a diverse team of experts contributing to technology development and investment projects. Process modelling is one of the key capabilities in the development of sustainable and innovative technologies. Together with your expertise, we can do meaningful work to drive Neste forward.
The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. We organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas.

Your role in our team

Hands-on process modelling and simulation in projects ranging from the early phase concept development to the optimization of existing production units

Development of new or existing process/kinetic models and calculation tools

Planning of experiments and analytics, as well as data analysis and reconciliation for process modelling

Execution of process simulations to provide initial data, for example heat and material balances, for process design

Documenting, reporting and presenting key results, findings and providing expert recommendations
Depending on your level of expertise, you may also be responsible for scoping, planning and leading modelling and simulation tasks in addition to your own hands-on modelling work.
Keys to success in this role

M.Sc. or D.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent

3-5+ years of experience in process modelling and simulation in the field of oil, petrochemical or chemical industry or university

Programming skills (e.g. Python, C++)

Experience and willingness to collaborate with R&D

Good communication and influencing skills

Good self leadership skills being able to deliver results and learn new

Excellent data analysis and documentation skills

Responsible attitude and safety-oriented mindset

Eager to experiment with AI tools to find better and more efficient ways of doing the tasks
