Automation Design Engineer

to our Instrumentation Engineering team in Porvoo, Finland.

As our Instrumentation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects. You'll leverage your expertise to help the instrumentation design team, collaborating closely with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders from across various engineering disciplines throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial studies and basic engineering to detailed design, implementation, and commissioning. You will work in a skilled and supportive project team.

In the absence lot of expertise or experience yet, we provide the necessary training and orientation for future tasks by experienced designers in the team and in external training courses.

Your role in our team

  • Participate in or lead the technical design from the initial phase through to commissioning, ensuring strict adherence to quality, scope, schedule, and safety requirements.
  • Take ownership of instrumentation engineering, encompassing instrument sizing and selection, conducting purchasing activities, defining work packages, wiring designs for hazardous areas, and performing field engineering.
  • You can make project hour and cost estimates for instrumentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement of our instrumentation procedures, instructions, and specifications.
  • Proactively develop your technical expertise and leadership capabilities within a supportive environment.

The best combination to succeed in this role

  • Experience in process automation/instrumentation engineering or other related automation field
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering or other related field
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach and a genuine enthusiasm for technical challenges
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams
  • Good proficiency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken communication

The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. We organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas. Partial remote working or working at our remote working office in Espoo are also possible.
