We are looking for you

Project Procurement Contract and Claim Manager

to our Project Procurement team in Porvoo. We are a team of over 40 Project procurement professionals. We have a strategic team of Project Procurement Managers and a tactical execution team of Purchasing and Expediting. We have tasks in investment projects globally.

 

The Contract and Claim manager will join the Project Procurement Management team. In this job you will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, suppliers and of course with the project procurement team. We are a part of the COO office under Investment Project Execution Governance as Project Procurement. We have team members in Finland, Netherlands and Singapore. The majority of the team is located in Porvoo, Kilpilahti Technology Center.

As a Contract and Claim Manager within our Project procurement team, you will be a key player in ensuring the commercial success and risk mitigation of Neste’s strategic investment projects. Your responsibilities encompass ensuring the quality of our contracts and enhancing compliance understanding within projects. Furthermore, you will provide assistance or leadership in claim cases, and educate relevant project team members on the claim process and procedures.

Your role in our team



As a Contract and Claim Manager within our Project Procurement team, you will be a key player in ensuring the commercial success and risk mitigation of Neste's strategic investment projects. This role involves significant responsibility for managing major disputes with third parties, including the handling of notices, claims, negotiations, and internal approvals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispute and Claim Management: Manage significant disputes with third parties. Provide claim process support to the project procurement team, including training, assisting with specific claim cases, and ensuring adherence to established claim processes to safeguard Neste's contractual rights. Proactively support the project team in preventive activities to avoid claim situations.

  • Contract Compliance: Monitor and ensure that all parties execute the project as agreed in the contract.

  • Contract Development and Support: Develop a comprehensive contract package template for project construction contracting, as well as project equipment and material procurement, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Support Supplier screening, bidding, and contracting processes.

  • Negotiation and Legal Expertise: Support significant contract negotiations as required. Maintain current knowledge of legal requirements pertinent to the industry.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work in close co-operation with cross-functional stakeholders, suppliers, and the project procurement team. You will act as the bridge between project teams and internal/external legal counsel.

 


Required Qualifications

  • Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, law, or equivalent.

  • Experience: A minimum of five years in procurement is preferred, specifically including experience in project procurement for investment projects (e.g., technical and engineering services, materials, EPC/EPCM contracts, construction, and contract law).

  • Language Skills: Professional fluency in both Finnish and English is mandatory
