We are looking for you,

Head of Investment Project Excellence

to our Investment Project Competence Center department in Porvoo in Finland.

You will focus on structurally improving project execution performance by assessing, developing, and implementing a strengthened project system for plant investments at Neste – helping us to achieve our North Stars; safety, predictability and efficiency in our projects. In this job you will work closely with Neste’s global project planning and execution teams, as well with the key stakeholders both in businesses and functions.

In our team, you will lead the Project Excellence team and indirectly the community of excellence roles, contributing to Neste’s strategy by sustainably building and improving project execution capabilities. The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. We organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas. We work regularly at least three days a week at the office to ensure seamless collaboration and sense of belonging.

Your role in our team

• Assess, develop and implement enhancements to Neste’s project system for plant investments.

• Develop project delivery models and project management related capabilities across our plant investment portfolios.

• Provide subject matter expertise to implement step changes in project delivery performance.

• Coach and support project teams and site personnel to excel in project work delivering an operating asset.

• Lead the Investment Project Excellence team and indirectly community of excellence roles.

• Be an active member of the Investment Project Competence Center leadership team.

Keys to success in this role

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. 

• Over 10 years of experience in managing small to large scale CAPEX projects in both planning and execution phases.

• Solid experience in steering strategic capability development and driving portfolio excellence.

• Proven leadership, stakeholder and change management experience at all organisational levels, across various businesses and functions, regions and cultures.

• Demonstrated ability to work at both strategic and tactical level in identifying and delivering work, problem-solving and decision-making.

• Ability to envision and the credibility to inspire and involve key contributors without direct control.

• A project management certificate is a plus.

• Full professional proficiency in English (spoken and written).
