We are looking for you,
Occupational Health and Safety Manager
to our Product and Chemical Safety team in Neste Corporate Safety function.
You will focus on supporting the development of personal and chemical safety globally in Neste. In this job you will work in close cooperation with colleagues both in Neste refineries, terminals and in the offices around the world. You will also act as an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager (työsuojelupäällikkö, Act 44/2006) in Finland.
As part of the Corporate Safety function you will contribute towards Neste’s safety strategy goals and practises in keeping employees safe from work related hazards, serious injuries and illnesses. In your role as an OHS Manager you will also coordinate the OHS Committee in Neste Finland. Together with you and your expertise, we can make an impact today and keep our promises for tomorrow.
You will be based preferably in Neste Kilpilahti refinery in Porvoo, Finland, but there is also a possibility to locate in Neste Headquarters in Espoo, Finland.

The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. We organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas.

Your role in our team is to

Maintain and develop deep expertise globally on regulatory requirements and industrial best practises concerning personal safety related hazards and risk assessment, especially for chemical risks

Own and improve processes, communication and effectiveness of personal safety risk management including contractors at Neste, internal instructions, auditing and incident investigation relating to personal safety issues

Provide training, expert mentoring and upskilling of Neste staff in your discipline area

Act as OHS Manager (työsuojelupäällikkö, Act 44/2006, §28 and 38) in Finland, supporting the employer in Finland in acquisition of worker protection related expertise and cooperation between employees and OHS authorities and coordinating the OHS Committee (työsuojelutoimikunta)
Keys to success in this role

University level education, or similar competence based on other education, with studies in occupational hygiene, toxicology and/or chemistry seen as of advantage

Deep knowledge, understanding and competence in personal safety requirements and chemical risk management for high-hazard organisations, capability to enhance utilization of recent know-how in practise

10+ years proven track record of in high-hazard OHS work, preferably in chemical or process industry setting

Experience and knowledge of Finnish Occupational Health and Safety legislation and requirements

Excellent language skills in both Finnish and English with capability to provide clear and understandable communication in both languages

Capacity for independent decision making, handling of difficult situations and capability to influence everyday safety at work

Good decision-making and cooperation skills and ability to communicate fluently in different situations

Responsible attitude and safety-oriented mindset
