We are looking for a Material Engineer to join our Materials Engineering team at Neste Engineering Solutions.

Neste Engineering Solutions holds a key position in Neste's investment and development projects. We are specialized in providing a unique combination of high quality technology, engineering and project management services and solutions. Neste Engineering Solutions employs more than 800 professionals located in Porvoo, Turku, Rotterdam and Singapore. In addition we work closely with a number of subcontractors on different projects.
 
In different phases of the investment projects, our team is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to materials behavior, selection and fabrication, know-how of pressure equipment manufacturing and more. Our common target with our client is to maintain high availability of the process units and your expertise is essential for us to reach that!
 
Participating in several phases of a project, such as study, basic engineering and execution, your tasks include:

  • Technical requirements and specifications for piping and equipment in different materials
  • Identifying possible corrosion phenomena and selection of correct type of materials in specific process conditions
  • Supporting engineering disciplines in various design tasks e.g. Welding guidelines, corrosion study, coating of materials and NDE requirements
  • Acting as a technical expert in purchase negotiations and factory auditioning
  • Providing support to inspection and expediting during manufacturing of equipment

 
 
You will work closely with maintenance and operations organizations to improve operability and ensure availability of the plants. Working closely together with the whole project team makes the project a success. You will also cooperate with vendors and subcontractors verifying compliance of product requirements.
 


The best combination to success in this role

  • M.Sc/B.Sc in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience of material selection and fabrication
  • Fluent Finnish and English, both written and spoken
  • Experience in material life cycle management
  • Experience in refinery environment

 
We also value:

  • Experience of NDE techniques
  • Fabrication and welding knowledge

 
 
The position will be located in the head office in Porvoo. We are flexible with partial remote work arrangements. Our Porvoo office is located only 30 minutes away from Helsinki city center by car. Free bus transportation is also provided for our employees from Porvoo, Helsinki and surrounding areas.
