Are you a results-driven project management professional ready to turn high-level strategic analysis into concrete business value?

Our Oil Products PMO team is looking for two dynamic Project Managers to lead critical initiatives within NOSTE. We are seeking project management professionals with a strong background in production, supply chain, or commercial operations. NOSTE is our strategic profit improvement program designed to make the Porvoo refinery the best-in-class and most profitable refinery in Northern Europe. As the analysis phase has successfully concluded, we are moving directly into the execution phase.

We also support leisure time activities, e.g. by offering benefits for sports and culture (ePassi).

More about the job

Your role in our team

  • Project delivery & change management: Own the full execution cycle of assigned individual projects, typically leading 1-2 projects simultaneously. You will define local work plans, track milestones, and manage day-to-day change management to ensure sustainable adoption of new processes.

  • Risk mitigation & problem solving: Proactively identify and resolve project-specific bottlenecks and resource constraints to maintain momentum at the unit level.

  • Value realization: Partner with local finance and operational teams to implement benefit capture plans, ensuring that project deliverables meet defined short-term financial targets, performance metrics, and cost-out goals.

  • Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with the Program PMO, Workstream Leads (VPs), and Site Operations.

  • Overcoming operational Challenges: Drive execution and long-term stabilization in a complex refinery environment. A primary challenge will be overcoming local resistance to change and securing commitment from site personnel without having direct line authority over the team.

Who you are

  • An adaptable leader: Comfortable with ambiguity; you can step into a newly defined project scope and confidently establish structure, targets, and metrics.
An industrial or commercial generalist: Experience in oil products, refining, complex logistics, or large-scale industrial transformation programs is highly valued.
A strong communicator: Able to effectively interface with everyone from refinery operators to VP-level workstream leads and steering committees.
Proactive & execution-focused: You don’t just report on status updates—you actively anticipate challenges and collaborate with teams hands-on to clear blockers.

The best combination to succeed in this role

  • Education: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: Solid project management experience, preferably within heavy industry, refining, or corporate transformation environments.

  • Core Knowhow: Solid, foundational knowledge of structured project management and change management methodologies.

  • Business acumen: Broad operational ability, business knowledge, and a strong commercial mindset to fully understand local unit value drivers.

  • Leadership skills: Demonstrated capability to lead teams according to the company's leadership model, with a strong ability to influence others, manage local stakeholders, and make timely operational decisions.

  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; professional proficiency in Finnish is highly advantageous due to frequent interactions with local operational interfaces at the Porvoo refinery.
