We are looking for you,

R&D Manager, Gasoline, Aviation and Powertrains

to join our Technology and Innovation, Products and Applications department  in Porvoo Kilpilahti, Finland.

In this role, you will be an integral part of our department, allocating resources to our R&D projects focused on fuel products. You will collaborate closely with our skilled fuel and engine experts, contributing to groundbreaking advancements in the field. This position offers an opportunity for professional growth and to develop yourself into a versatile R&D Manager. The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. We organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas.

Your role at our department

• Lead a mid-sized R&D team consisting of technical experts and project managers

• Develop and ensure resources and capabilities on gasoline, aviation fuels and powertrains for Neste’s needs

• Ensure well-being and occupational safety of team members

• Work closely with internal stakeholders, actively communicating and collaborating with them

• Supporting both renewable and traditional fuel businesses.

• Provide advanced expertise for R&D projects and internal stakeholders

• Work process development and ownership

• Proactively sharing your knowledge and expertise to help Neste succeed.

Keys to success in this role 

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is

• Master's degree or higher in chemistry or chemical engineering or powertrain  technologies

• Strong background in experimental research, preferably at least 5 years of relevant work experience from R&D

• Experience in project management and on working in cross-functional teams 

• Good facilitation, coaching and interpersonal skills

• Fluent written and spoken English, while Finnish is beneficial 

• Ability to actively seek solutions and innovate

We also value

• Experience in people management and leadership

• Understanding on fuel products, production and business and on powertrain technologies

• Expertise of problem solving and customer interaction

• Process development experience
