Senior Manager, Electrical


to our Technology and Process Development team in Porvoo, Finland.


Technology and Process development team is part of Neste’s Oil products platform, which focuses on supporting Neste’s target to transform our Porvoo refinery into Europe’s most sustainable refinery. The tasks in the team include seeking of new technologies, developing best practices and optimization tools as well as securing the correct technical solutions and uniformity in the transformation projects. 


Besides working closely within the team, in your role you will collaborate with maintenance, operations and design engineers. Being in the Senior Manager role, you will be in the leading position when making the crucial decisions in your field of expertise to secure a safe, reliable and effective refinery. The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. We organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas.

Your role in our team

 

  • Supporting refinery transformation projects as the leading specialist of electrical solutions in cooperation with the integrated project teams
  • Making decisions in projects on behalf of Oil Products platform regarding choices within the discipline during the project’s early phases, securing the functionality of the solution throughout the whole lifetime
  • Setting the requirements for the projects regarding safety, availability, maintainability and operations in collaboration with asset management and operation teams
  • Development of the Neste specifications for electrical solutions
  • Participating to project works, e.g. engineering reviews, vendor negotiations and vendor selection
  • Development and ownership of discipline technology best practices

 

The best combination to succeed in this role

 

  • Relevant technical degree, e.g. electrical engineer or similar. Preferably B.Sc or higher.
  • As a senior manager role the successful candidate should bring relevant 15+ years of industrial experience in electrical engineering or management
  • Solid knowhow on electrical solutions and requirements in a refinery environment
  • Relevant project experience and knowhow of the requirements in different project phases in an investment project
  • Fluent spoken and written English, knowledge of Finnish is considered as a benefit.
  • Good collaboration, communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to obtain techno-economical elements from created solutions and specifications.
  • Safety mindset and create long lasting safe solutions

 

Other strengths we value 

As the refinery world is going towards carbon neutrality one key replacement will be electrical solutions. Hence knowledge of novel electricity based solutions to reduce carbon footprint is considered as a notable benefit.
