Senior Researcher, Inorganic Analytics and Characterization Research

 

to join the Research Analytics department. 

 

Neste Technology & Projects function’s Research & Development unit drives renewal in the industry. Research Analytics department is a part of this pioneering work and responsible for the analytics supporting R&D projects, Technology & Projects function’s units and production. An essential part of the work is to develop and apply new analytical and characterization methods.

 

In your role, you will be responsible for the analytics and methods of the Catalyst and Materials Analytics laboratory (especially XRF and XRD) with a team of specialists. Together with you and your expertise, we can make an impact today and keep our promises for tomorrow.

 

The position is located in Neste Technology Center, Kilpilahti (Porvoo), which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. We organise free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas. A part of the work could be done remotely.

Your role in creating a sustainable future

 

You will work as an analytical and catalyst characterization expert and will work closely in cross-functional project teams with other subject matter experts from Technology & Projects function and Production, and also with external parties providing analytical services and development collaboration. You will participate in the development of our research laboratory by being involved in analyzer investments and methods development.

 

Keys to success in this role 
 

  • Doctorate degree or Master’s degree with solid experience in analytical or inorganic chemistry, chemical engineering (or other similar relevant)
  • Strong experience in catalyst and solid materials characterization techniques and inorganic chemistry (e.g. XRF, XRD, and additionally SEM-EDS, ICP)
  • Solid knowledge and experience in catalyst research
  • Experience in the method development and validation
  • Fluent English
  • Possibility to travel
