We are looking for you,

Simulator Engineer, Operator Training Simulators (OTS)

to join our Simulator Team in Porvoo for a fixed term contract until the end of July 2026. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with the leader in renewable and circular solutions. We appreciate it if you have already gained a year or two hands-on experience in the field of training simulators, automation or process engineering.


You will focus on participating operator training simulator development and maintenance work mainly in projects and ensure the high quality and functionality of the simulators at the Porvoo refinery. 

 

In this role, you will work in a Neste team that works closely with our engineering partners in daily project work. You are responsible to ensure the training simulators meet the end-user needs. You define development and maintenance tasks, make fixes in the simulator domain and assist occasionally in operator training.

The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. We organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas. Neste offers the possibility to work two days per week remotely. Minimum of three days office days per week is required for efficient on-site work and support.

Your role in our team


  • Participating OTS projects, roughly ⅔ of work time, including definition of development tasks, prioritization, testing, and quality control 

  • Participating OTS maintenance work, roughly ⅓ of work time, including maintenance project planning, execution in collaboration with a partner

  • Participating in occasional OTS trainings with process operators, mainly for new features 

  • Defining support tasks and responsibility to ensure the task in executed in best possible way 

  • Implementing small fixes in simulators

  • Other duties assigned by the employer


Keys to success in this role

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering e.g. process automation

  • Preferably one to two years of experience from engineering in process, automation and preferably in simulator environment

  • Automation and process knowledge, preferably OTS knowledge

  • Responsible attitude and safety-oriented mindset

  • Fluent written and spoken English
