Solution Development Engineer

You will be one of the first in Oil Products -organization to receive new project ideas. Your task is to review the ideas together with the relevant stakeholders, come up with the scope, schedule, cost/hour estimate and deliverables for the project first phase and hand the results for decision making. We expect you to continuously develop the related processes to allow the projects to achieve better results, and being cost effective at the same time. 

Understanding the near future workload is crucial to be able to deliver projects efficiently. In addition to the Solution Development tasks, we expect you to continuously improve the process to collect and maintain information of the near future project prospects to estimate the becoming workload and share the information to the relevant counterparts. Your ultimate target will be to ensure that we have the right resources available at the right time.

This is a great opportunity to make a difference and achieve results as one of the key players in projects. You will be working in a OSBL project delivery team and your other closest counterparts are Development Managers, Project Owners, Project Managers, Project Control personnel, Engineering Leads and the Portfolio Manager.

The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. We organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas.

The best combination to succeed in this role

• Technical education, M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering

• Desire and skills to lead people towards a common goal

• Basic understanding of the project management, engineering disciplines, cost control, cost estimation, scheduling and the tools being used

• Previous Development Engineering experience is an advantage

• Fluent oral and written skills in Finnish and in English

• Good organization, prioritization and time management skills

• Collaboration and communication skills

• Responsible attitude and safety-oriented mindset
