Summer trainee, MRO Purchasing

to our Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Purchasing team in Kilpilahti location. We are a global team with 16 professionals dedicated to purchasing technical services and materials to Neste’s maintenance and asset management organization in order to ensure that the refineries and terminals smooth operation.

Your role during the summer

You will support your team and get the opportunity to deepen your own expertise in purchasing.

As a Summer Trainee, in MRO Purchasing you focus on ensuring materials and services are available at the required time. Your tasks include creating and leading the RFQ process, Place purchase orders, Expedite purchase orders, handle any claims and solve any invoice payment issues.  You work together with category leads regarding suppliers, work planners for scope and account payables for any invoice issues.

The best combination to succeed in this role

• You are currently studying or have studied Business administration, Engineering or similar, relevant field

• Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English

• Motivation to learn and deepen your knowledge in purchasing and refining

• Some experience of purchasing or selling

• We also value earlier work experience in purchasing  but it is not mandatory

The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. On weekdays, we organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas. More information here. 

The position follows the collective agreement for senior salaried employees. If you are in the early stages of your studies, the minimum starting salary is 2350 EUR. Your salary will also depend on relevant work experience and, for students, the number of completed course credits. We welcome applications from both current students and those who have graduated after 1st January 2025. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment. The summer job typically takes place between May 1 and September 30, 2026.
