Summer Trainee, Research Assistant

to our Products and Application department in Porvoo. We are a team of 35 product experts and professionals dedicated to ensure the good quality and operability of Neste products.

Your role during the summer

You will support your team and get the opportunity to deepen your own expertise in Neste´s products.

As a Summer Trainee, Research Assistant, you will support our experts and laboratories in product related projects.  Your main tasks will be research and analysis data collections and laboratory work coordination. You will have a good opportunity to work with our world class experts and laboratories who will support you in your work.

The best combination to succeed in this role

• You are currently studying or have recently graduated from chemistry, chemical engineering or a similar, relevant field
• Good communication skills in Finnish and English
• Motivation to learn and deepen your knowledge in Neste´s products 
• Some experience of research work and/or fuel products area is an advantage
• We also value earlier work experience in the field of chemistry but it is not mandatory

The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30 minutes by car from the center of Helsinki. On weekdays, we organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas. More information here. 

The position follows the collective agreement for salaried employees. If you are in the early stages of your studies, the minimum starting salary is 1730 EUR. For graduates, the minimum starting salary is 2088 EUR. Your salary will also depend on relevant work experience and, for students, the number of completed course credits. We welcome applications from both current students and those who have graduated in 2024. Please note that you must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment. The summer job typically takes place between May 1 and September 30, 2025.
