Authority Engineer

 

to join the technical department in Rotterdam (Maasvlakte).

As the Authority Engineer you’re part of the Authority Engineering team. The team is responsible to ensure compliant operations related to regulatory requirements, certifications of current installations/equipment and new projects. The team will ensure priorities are set, follow-up on assigned tasks, be part of the respective department work processes and develop the team and individual team members. You will also participate as a representative of the technical department with a mandate to decide and authorize.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future

 

  • Subject Matter Expert legislative requirements i.e. but not limited to WABO, PGS, ATEX, PED, BEVI, BEVB, Machine directive, UPD, VR.

  • Advise and ensure compliance to above regulations when new projects and/or changes in several stages of initiatives.

  • Ensure timely (re)certification of operational systems

  • Participate in corporate SME networks related to industry/corporate standards

  • Responsible for quality assurance related to inspections, temporary and/or permanent projects.

  • Quality relates to regulatory requirements to take equipment and systems into operations.

  • Supports inspection department with verifying/evaluating inspection reports

  • Identify competence development to successfully execute area of responsibilities

  • Responsible to keep knowledge and needed certifications up to date

  • JIG-1530 standard

  • Develop work processes related to authority engineering and quality assurance in line with local, European legislation in line with corporate standards.

  • KPI development and monitoring with PDCA

  • Responsible to compliance related to asset integrity and installation integrity

  • Responsible of the installation and assets are compliant (related to permitting, legislation as well as quality) at all times related to the local and European legislation

  • Responsible applicable certifications are timely validated, updated and approved by authorized body

 

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is: 

  • Chemical Engineering or Similar;

  • +3 years of relevant experience in field of Quality Assurance, Inspection, Authority Engineering, Process Safety, Process Engineering in Chemical or Oil and Gas;

  • Hands-on experience in the industry;

  • Effective communication skills in English (mandatory) both verbally and in writing. Preferably command of the Dutch language;

  • Experience in Renewable Processes is an advantage.
