We are hiring a Compliance Assurance Manager in Rotterdam as part of the refinery management team.


The Compliance Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that compliance processes related to the manufacturing site comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You play a critical role in implementing and maintaining compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing guidance to management and employees on compliance-related matters. 


The Compliance Assurance Manager reports to the Site Director and works closely with various departments to ensure future regulations will be met and identify potential areas of risk and develop strategies to mitigate them while promoting a culture of integrity and ethical behaviour within the organisation.

Your role in creating a sustainable future

 

  • As the Compliance Assurance Manager you are authorised to act on behalf of the Rotterdam site (NENL legal entity) towards all regulating authorities. It is expected that you will build strong relationships with the governing bodies in order to facilitate e.g. permitting process and (if applicable) solving any deviations.
  • The Compliance Assurance Manager is the owner of the compliance process and will ensure that all relevant activities to get into and remain in compliance are embedded within the organisation and work processes. 
  • You are providing leadership over the permitting officer and one environmental engineer (direct reports).
  • You ensure effective collaboration with internal stakeholders: you will work closely with departments such as HSEQ, operations and maintenance to ensure that compliance requirements are integrated into business processes and decision-making. 
  • The Compliance Assurance Manager reports to the Site Director and will be part of the Rotterdam refinery Management Team and within this team, you are responsible to set priorities in order to ensure compliance.

 

 

Keys to success in this role

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, finance, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or related roles within the process industry. You have experience with a BRZO site.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify compliance risks and develop effective control measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Good command of the Dutch and the English language.

 

 

This position is located at Neste Rotterdam refinery in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
