We are looking for you,
Cost Estimator
to our Neste Global Project Control department in Rotterdam.
We have a medium sized team of experienced cost estimating professionals. The team is responsible for providing world class cost estimates for our own and our strategic partners’ investment projects. Both this role and the team are crucial for the success of our investment projects and ensuring the execution of Neste’s strategic priorities.
You will work closely with other colleagues in the project management office, project execution teams, investment management and other functions to ensure reliable estimations of project total cost for the investments. There will also be a strong focus in further developing our cost estimation practices and systems. Together with you and your expertise, we can make an impact today and keep our promises for tomorrow.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future

Develop project cost estimates for capital projects progressing through the NESTE capital project system. Starting from the business opportunity and idea generation phase until the final cost estimate as basis for project appropriation;

Participate as a proactive team member of the integrated project team throughout the project lifecycle to assure relevant project processes, services and deliverables are considered as an integral input into the final project cost estimates;

Create estimating plans, cost estimates and compile basis of cost estimate;

Conduct cost risk analysis as appropriate for type of cost estimate;

Validate cost estimates done by external EPCM contractors, when applicable;

Participate in development and maintenance of cost estimating tools and processes;

Maintain and use current and applicable cost estimating data and systems;

Perform project reconciliation studies with the aim to improve quality and accuracy of cost estimating tools and methods and ultimately deliver more capital efficient projects;

Work with the global Neste Cost and estimating team to build consistency in cost estimating methods and data.

Support the development of Global NESTE project benchmarking tools and methods to drive capital efficiency across the company.
The best combination to succeed in this role
-
Experience in cost estimation, project controls or in PMO functions, and B.Sc. or M.Sc., or equivalent combination of education and experience;

The ideal candidate brings cost estimating and cost control experience from working in a capital projects portfolio preferably in a (petro-chemical) manufacturing environment;

Good understanding of international cost estimating standards and experience of investment projects and related cost estimation matters;

Sound knowledge about international project business;

Good command in English, both spoken and written. As the position will be based in the Netherlands being fluent in Dutch is considered as an advantage;

Excellent collaboration skills with proficiency to influence others;

Development and safety oriented mindset.
Other strengths we value

Certification in Cost Estimating (CEP, AACE Project management, DACE) is highly appreciated;

Experience with Cost estimate tools and other relevant IT-systems;

Having worked closely with EPC(M) and execution contractors on capital projects will be considered as an advantage;
