Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The plant in Rotterdam produces renewable fuels. Together with 300 colleagues we are working everyday to operate, maintain, and improve the plant in an efficient and safe manner.
 
We are looking for a HSSE Lead Shutdown & Turnaround to join our HSSEQ Department.
 
The HSSE Lead (Health, Safety, Security & Environmental) is responsible for the development, implementation and management of health, safety, security and environmental aspects for shutdowns and turnarounds. This role ensures adherence to applicable regulations, company policies and best practices, fostering a strong safety culture and minimizing risks to personnel and the environment. 
The HSSE Lead will work closely with the turnaround team, the site HSSEQ team and contractors to ensure a safe turnaround execution. The HSSE Lead is a member of the HSSEQ department, reporting to the Head of HSE Netherlands .
 


 
In your role, you will be responsible for:

  •  General:

-    Provide HSE knowledge and guidance during all phases of the turnaround.
-    Promoter of Neste’s “No Harm,Together”,safety vision through visible leadership   
     and proactive engagement.

  • Planning & Development:

-    Develop shutdown and turnaround HSSE Plan.
-    Cooperation with colleagues and contractors to develop safe ways of working
       based on risk assessments.  

  • Implementation & Monitoring:

-    Implementation of the HSSE plan and monitor adherence.
-     Conduct safety meetings & Safety walks.
-    Conduct investigations and root cause analysis.

  • Contractor Management:

    -    Conduct contractor pre-qualification assessments and safety audits.
    -    Provide HSE onboarding to contractor personnel of all levels.
    -    Monitor contractor performance with respect to HSE requirements.

  • Compliance & Reporting:

-    Ensure compliance with applicable HSE regulations.
-    Prepare and submit regular HSE reports.
-    Encourage reporting of near misses and safety concerns.

  • Security:

-    Work together with Site Security on security arrangements.

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field [HVK or equivalent) or same level gained through experience;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE within the (petro-)chemical industry, including maintenance turnarounds;
  • Knowledge of relevant HSE regulations and industry standards;
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and hazard analysis techniques;
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment;
  • Experience with permit to work, TRA and MOC processes;
  • Experience in confined space entry, hot work, and working at heights.
