Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The plant in Rotterdam produces renewable fuels. Together with 200 colleagues we are working everyday to operate, maintain, and improve the plant in an efficient and safe manner.

 

The Lead Inpector (L3) is the key specialist for Neste for inspection activities. The role reports to the Maintenance Engineering Supervisor and is the first contact point for the outsources inspection team. The Lead Inspecor (L3) has an independent reporting line to the plant manager. The lead Inspector (L3) leads a team of 7 (external) inspectors. The purpose is to initiate, define, execute and monitor the (un)planned.  inspection for Neste Netherlands. The lead inspector (L3) provides assurance through an effective inspection program about the condition of the equipment. The role is accountable for the long range inspection plan to optimise the inspection plans within the regulatory requirements with a methodical approach. With a strong focus on safety to execute the inspections safely and orderly. 

 

The Lead inspector (L3) is part of the maintenance department. The overall responsibility of the department is to maintain the plant and the supporting facilities according legal and industry standards in a cost efficient manner.
 

To ensure:

  • Ensure legal compliance

  • Develop risk based and cost efficient inspections & maintenance plans

  • Analyse of failures from maintenance management system

  • Initiate and support improvement activities

 

The role includes the following responsibilities:  

  • Maintaining, reviewing and updating (and/or development) of preventive inspection plans, thereby ensuring legal compliance & compliance with Neste standards, and taking into account technical developments in the industry.

  • Develops plans to maintain functional safety level and legal compliance such as PGS29, PED. 

  • Ensure all required inspections are performed according to the multi year plan and maintain the multi year plan for the static equipment.  

  • Ensure that the inspections are from the right quality and follow up on the NDT program that Neste is in compliance with internal and external standards. Conform in- and external inspections dedicated to the equipment from predetermined terms from the reassessment plans

  • Accountable for approval of inspection reports including findings from the inspectors. With the purpose to assess the integrity of the equipment from periodical inspections to assure safe operations. 

  • Accountable to manage the  inspection management data system,  reports from inspections, assessments of mechanical integrity, assessed mitigating measures and follow up of these measures. 

  • Act as a liaison with the maintenance engineering department in order to maintain the required integrity of equipment. 

  • Initiate and lead improvement initiatives, monitor necessary tests in case needed

  • Ensure documentation is up to date and local legislation is incorporated in the Neste Netherlands management system and maintenance system

  • Provides input in cost forecasting

  • Contributing to keeping Neste (corporate) specifications up-to-date for the discipline area

  • Participates in project teams and leads “small” projects, reviews technical improvements

 

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years in Oil & Gas, petrochemical (industry) as a level 3 inspector

  • Prior Experience in Projects and TAs execution

  • Knowledgeable with international standards, petroleum /petrochemical plant materials and equipment (PRD, KVI, WBDA, PED)

  • Experienced in maintenance work control, planning, reliability methodologies

  • Knowledge of related maintenance and engineering disciplines
