Lead Process Design Engineer

 

to our Project Delivery Group within Neste Netherlands in Rotterdam.

In this business unit, we provide high-quality technology and engineering services, specializing in engineering, procurement, construction, and project management for the Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, and Bio-industries. Our clients are Neste's own manufacturing sites, giving you the chance to work on impactful projects that shape the future of sustainable production.

We're currently looking for a Lead Process Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring our process designs meet the highest standards of scope, engineering, and quality. You'll work closely with the production site organisation (Operations and Maintenance) to understand their business objectives and deliver innovative solutions that drive success.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future

 

  • Lead and execute the process technical design of local and or global portfolio projects from conceptual design phase to as built phase;

  • Strong conceptual design capabilities especially in brownfield projects, defining project scopes and leading the execution in a safe and cost effective way;

  • Provide high-level technical expertise in their own area of specialism in design and engineering;

  • Outline the design and engineering work, execute complex design and engineering activities in design, HSE design, materials or systems design according to defined standards and work methods;

  • Outline design and engineering policies and guidelines to guide others and improve function performance. Provide data to disciplines and communicate with stakeholders with technical issues;

  • Manage engineering cost and schedule on projects assigned and within the lead design engineers control  (scope and work-hours etc.);

  • Proactively collaborate and network within Neste as a global company. E.g. Porvoo, Singapore, India, Rotterdam. The close co-operation with project team members is considered to be a key element for delivering quality projects;

  • Act as a liaison between the Manufacturing organisation, technology organization and the IPEG project organization. Ensuring projects are designed and delivered  to meet the right scope and business objectives.


 

 

The best combination to succeed in this role

 

  • Bachelor or Master in a chemical or mechanical engineering discipline;

  • Demonstrated experience (10+ years) in Oil & Gas investment projects as lead process engineer, with a strong understanding of work processes, procedures, and resource management. A minimum of 5 years of this experience must have been gained working in the Netherlands;

  • Excellent communication, networking and collaboration skills;

  • Fluency in English and Dutch.
