Manager, Incident Learning
to our Refining Competence Center, Incident Learning Team, in Rotterdam
Refining Competence Center Incident Learning focuses on addressing impactful learnings and actions from internal incidents. The Incident Learning team works across Neste globally with our refineries and with any other organisation, where the incident learning expertise and impact is needed.
The team works closely with other Refining Competence Center teams, different BU safety organisations and with incident stakeholders in any function within Neste.
Being the Manager, Incident Learning, you will lead the full learning cycle on high impact incidents. Full learning concerns handling, addressing root causes and following through impactful actions to avoid recurrence at Neste globally. In this role a collaborative mindset is a key success factor, as being able to facilitate learning events handling incidents in different Neste locations globally. You will have the opportunity to get insight to any organisation in Neste and give your help to address learnings and actions with high impact. The Incident Learning team working area is not limited to refineries only, it comprehends all organizations at all locations globally.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future

Lead Incident Learning teams, RCA and action follow through at high level Incident investigations;

Ensure adequate communication between all stakeholders;
-
Responsible for improving our incident learning capabilities, including developing training materials and providing coaching to our teams;
-
Leading the effort to develop and sustain changes to our incident learning process, ensuring its successful implementation locally;
-
Proactively learning from near misses and external incidents to identify and implement preventive measures;
-
Propose improvements for the Incident investigation standard and relevant tools;
-
Incident learning training for stakeholders.
The best combination to succeed in this role

Advanced experience in business and/or operational process excellence;
-
Experience with root cause analysis or other similar methods;
-
Experience in leadership and/or project management roles;
-
Experience working with refining and/or petrochemical industry;
-
Incident learning training / academic level of thinking / curiosity / open mind for fact; finding/ good communicator / refining and business acumen;
-
Responsible attitude and safety-oriented mindset;
-
Readiness in working with an international organisation and different cultures;
-
Readiness to travel.
The best combination to succeed in this role

Bachelor or Master Chemical degree;
-
Hands-on experience in the Chemical or Oil and Gas industry;

Strong networking, stakeholder management and communication skills enabling you to build relationships and effectively collaborate with various teams and individuals;

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills;
-
Fluency in English and Dutch;
