We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance Team at the Neste Rotterdam Refinery.

 

The Maintenance mechanical engineer at our location in Rotterdam is, in short, responsible for ensuring adequate equipment performance for his/her area of discipline, in the short and long-term.

The role of Mechanical Maintenance Engineer are. 

 

  • Maintaining, reviewing and updating (and/or development) of preventive maintenance plans, thereby ensuring legal compliance & compliance with Neste standards, and taking into account technical developments in the industry
  • Ensure all required maintenance by own personnel and third parties is executed in time, resulting in successful certification of the mechanical systems 
  • Create and scope repair plans for execution of repairs
  • Act as a liaison with inspection department in order to maintain the required integrity of equipment
  • Initiate and lead improvement initiatives, monitor necessary tests in case needed
  • Ensure documentation is up to date and local legislation is incorporated in the Neste Netherlands management system and maintenance system
  • Provide training to e.g. operators and maintenance where needed
  • Participation in (or leading) Root Cause Analysis investigations or other troubleshooting activities into reliability problems of mechanical equipment (together with other disciplines, such as colleagues from the maintenance and operations departments), including definition of concrete improvement actions
  • Serving as the “go-to person” for maintenance planners, in case of questions on e.g. complex maintenance challenges. 
  • Proposing (and developing) minor equipment changes (MOC) and providing input into projects for the area of discipline.
  • Contributing to keeping Neste (corporate) specifications up-to-date for the discipline area

 

Keys to success in this role

 

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is

  • Bachelor/Master level or equivalent in mechanical engineering or similar engineering degree
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in process industry (refinery, chemical plant)
  • Knowledge of NEN, API, PGS, PED standards is an advantage; willingness to develop adequate understanding is a ‘must’
  • Good communicating skills for communicating at various levels, from management level to operational level
  • Flexible attitude and ability to handle changes related to the innovative nature of our business
  • Interested in learning and developing new applications and skills, and the potential and interest to develop further in the next 3-5 years
  • Willingness to work together
  • A high safety, health, environmental and quality awareness
  • Ability to speak and write in English; ability in Dutch is considered an advantage (and considered essential to be successful in this role)
