We are looking for an Operations Engineer to join our Renewable Production Team in Rotterdam.

 

In your role as Operations Engineer, you are responsible for optimizing the availability, production and safety of operations by following and developing different process functions, variables and operations. You will report to the Supervisor Operations and will work closely with Operations, Process Automation Engineer, Safety Department, Process Engineers.

Your role in creating a sustainable future

 

  • Optimising, monitoring and troubleshooting plant operations and providing support for operations and other departments
  • Efficient handling of process-upsets
  • Developing process equipment and process availability
  • Working as team leader in different projects and making calculations and budgets for variable and fixed accounts
  • Arranging testing and implementation of process systems and equipment
  • Working as a team member in shutdown and maintenance planning
  • Discussing and applying multi-discipline process design and control strategies in relation to processes and systems.
  • Working as a contact person between shift operations and daily operations and between all different departments
  • Contact person during upset situations and responsible person for process follow-ups, investigations and reporting
  • Making operating manuals and procedures, equipments and tools for training and learning for the internal and external parties involved
  • Resolve problems arising in the course of construction
  • Make efficient commissioning and start-up procedures and working as team leader or specialist in commissioning and start-up phase
  • Working as a team member in shutdown and maintenance planning
  • Participates in making of safety culture of the plant
  • Responsible of following safe operations during normal operations and upset situations in whole plant 
  • Observing deviations and reporting immediately to the responsible person

 

 

The best combination to succeed in this role

  • Good knowledge of chemical engineering and process technology
  • Several years working experience in chemical plant or oil refinery
  • University degree in Chemical or Process Engineering 
  • Engineer or technical background (high vocational diploma or Academic degree)
  • Quality-, safety-, instruction knowledge and ability to work within them
  • Knowledge of automation systems
  • Knowledge of HSE- systems
