Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The plant in Rotterdam produces renewable fuels. Together with 300 colleagues we are working everyday to operate, maintain, and improve the plant in an efficient and safe manner.
 
We are looking for a Process Safety Engineer to join our HSSEQ Department.
 
As Process Safety Engineer you’re responsible to lead, drive, develop, implement and execute Process Safety management systems refinery wide. The Process Safety Engineer is part of  the HSSEQ department, reporting to the Head of HSE Netherlands.
 
In your role, you will be responsible for; 

• Neste Rotterdam custodian of OEMS (Operations Excellence Management System) principle Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control. Related work processes are:

-    Process Hazard Evaluation and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA);
-    Facility Siting;
-    Safety Critical Equipment.

• Neste Rotterdam custodian of OEMS principle Management of Change. Ensure OEMS requirements are embedded in the Neste Netherlands work-processes:

-    Pre-Start-up Safety Review;
-    Product and Chemical Safety;
-    Chemical Inventory on site NL;
-    Construction, modification or demolition and management of buildings or     installations.

• Neste Rotterdam custodian of OEMS principle Product and Chemical Safety. Ensure OEMS requirements are embedded in the Neste Netherlands work-processes:

-    Chemicals Approval;
-    Chemical Compliance and Registration;
-    Chemical Safety and Data Sheet (SDS).

• Lead, prepare and follow-up as Rotterdam Site representative insurance audit. Ensure agreed actions are executed and documented.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert related to Process Safety as part of regulatory requirements like, but not exclusively:

-    Preventie Beleid Risico Zware Ongevallen (PBZO);
-    Explosie Veiligheids Document (EVD);
-    Veiligheidsrapport.

• Neste Rotterdam custodian of OEMS principle Safety Leadership. Ensure OEMS requirements are embedded in the Neste Netherlands work-processes:

-    Process Safety Fundamentals.

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is: 

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field [HVK or equivalent] or same level gained through experience;
• Minimum 10 years experience within Process Safety of Process Engineering;
• Hands-on experience in the Chemical or Oil and Gas industry;
• Excellent communication skills and able to collaborate;
• Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and ability to make timely decisions through good analytical process & problem solving.
