Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The plant in Rotterdam produces renewable fuels. Together with 200 colleagues we are working everyday to operate, maintain, and improve the plant in an efficient and safe manner.

 

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our engineering team in Rotterdam.

 

Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future are:

 

Monitoring and optimising production processes in the primary process area of responsibility and resolving process-related problems. Providing assurance for safe operations of all the NENL units. A proactive attitude towards maintaining the highest standards of process safety culture, with a focus on integrating safety measures into day-to-day operations.

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Conducting risk assessments on plant related (process) issues.
  • Management of change (MOC), conduct risk assessments on relevant changes made to the facility’s processes and equipment.
  • Resolve problems and supervise problem solving execution.
  • Support or lead investigations to identify root causes of process upsets, deviations and incidents.
  • Provide technological and product-related knowledge in developing and executing new projects in co-operation with the Technology Office.
  • Provide technical instructions and transfer knowledge and insight to other employees.
  • Provide support to site related projects, review engineering documents.
  • Arrange tests and data gathering to be carried out in cooperation with production management.
  • Assess the test results in terms of technical production opportunities and potential environmental impact.
  • Provide support with respect to permit applications and compliance issues.
  • Draft and elaborate process flow diagrams and P&ID changes.
  • Maintain and contribute professional knowledge related to applied process technology and relevant process engineering tools.
  • Participate in HAZOP reviews for the current installations to keep HAZOP reviews up to date as per legislation.
  • Support with weekly and monthly reporting.

 

 

You will report to the Engineering Supervisor, and will work closely with other Process Engineers, Operations Engineers, Operators

 

 

The best combination to success in this role:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Process or Chemical Engineering
  • 2 years working experience as a Chemical, Process or Operating Engineer
  • Knowledge of business processes
  • Knowledge and experience with projects
  • Fluent English and Dutch
