Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The plant in Rotterdam produces renewable fuels. Together with 200 colleagues we are working everyday to operate, maintain, and improve the plant in an efficient and safe manner.
We are looking for a Process Safety Engineer to join our Technical Department.
As Process Safety Engineer you’re responsible to lead, drive, develop, implement and execute refinery wide. The Process Safety Engineer processes under direct custody of the Technical department. In this role the specific focus areas as part of the Process Safety Management are;
- Understanding the risks (i.e. HaZop, LOPA, RA, ERM etc.)
- Managing the risks (i.e. MoC, Override, safe design etc.)
- Learn from Experience and Improvement (i.e. Incident Investigations, KPI monitoring etc.)
In your role, you will be responsible for;
- Neste Rotterdam custodian of OEMS (Operations Excellence Management System) principle Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control. Related work.processes are:
- Process Hazard Analyses (HaZop, SIL, LOPA, RA)
- Process Risk Classification
- Process Safety Information
- Neste Rotterdam custodian of OEMS principle Management of Change. Ensure OEMS requirements are embedded in the Neste Netherlands work-processes:
- Management of Change in Technology and Infrastructure
- Temporary and Emergency MoC
- Interlock or Safety equipment override
- Neste Rotterdam custodian of OEMS principle Safety Leadership. Ensure OEMS requirements are embedded in the Neste Netherlands work-processes:
- HSE Design Guidelines
- Management of Technical Specification
- Act as Subject Matter Expert related to Process Safety as part of MOC’s, Risk Assessments, Incident Investigations,abnormal operations and in Capex projects development stage.
- Neste Rotterdam custodian for Enterprise Risk Management. Ensure the ERM register for Rotterdam is up to date, collaborate with action owners to ensure progress is made to mitigate ERM registered risks and participate as Rotterdam representative in quarterly ERM meetings.

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is;
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification;
- Minimum 10 years experience within Process Safety of Process Engineering;;
- Hands-on experience in the Chemical or Oil and Gas industry;
- Excellent communication skills and able to collaborate;
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and ability to make timely decisions through good analytical process & problem solving.
