Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The plant in Rotterdam produces renewable fuels. Together with 200 colleagues we are working everyday to operate, maintain, and improve the plant in an efficient and safe manner.
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Engineering Solutions team in Rotterdam.
As a Project Manager you will manage a project portfolio to support different projects according to Neste operating model safely in compliance with agreed project scope, schedule, cost and quality.
Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future are:
- Support the effort to identify, evaluate, and select project alternatives by providing relevant project development and execution expertise.
- Provides the expertise and resources to identify the project risks.
- Develop the milestone schedule and requirements for turnaround integration.
- Prepare the cost estimate.
- Develop detailed plans for Feasibility/Definition and high-level plans for execution including construction.
- Lead the engineering team.
During definition and execution phases the Project Manager shall be accountable for overall delivery of assigned projects including, but not limited to, the following:
- Manage the projects according to Neste operating model safely in compliance with agreed project scope, schedule, cost and quality.
- Ensuring resourcing and leading the projects internal engineering, procurement and construction team.
- Track project's scope, schedule and costs for changes. Prepare change requests for any deviation and lead the approval process.
- Maintain a strategic focus for the project with frequent interaction with the Development Manager, Project Owner and Line Manager.
- Ensuring project team members' understanding and commitment to project scope, schedule and cost as well as driving for project team members' ownership of their own scope.
- Driving for project management best practices and efficient communication in order to create seamless and goal oriented teamwork in projects.
- Sharing project management best practices within the organization
- Ensure efficient communication and information sharing between engineering disciplines and other project stakeholders.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans for off-schedule/budget/deliverables, unanticipated occurrences and risks.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans for deviances in schedule/ budget/ deliverables as well as unanticipated occurrences and risks when required.
- Ensure that project execution shall fulfill requirements of law and authorities and that all required permits (e.g. building permit) have been granted. Maintain awareness of safety and environmental requirements.
- Reporting projects' status according to agreed principles.
- Maintain project's data promptly up to date in Neste’s ERP-system.
- Ensure and assist preparation of internal invoices and approve them for invoicing.
- Hand over the completed project to Owner as agreed.
You will report to the Project Management Office Leader of the Netherlands, but you are expected to work very independently, collaborating closely and networking easily with the project organization in other Neste locations as well.
The best combination to success in this role:
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project Management studies and certification such as PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Minimum 5 years industrial related project management experience in an EPCM environment, with experience in all the different project phases but specifically in the definition and execution phases.
- Leadership and human resources management skills.
- Project scheduling skills by utilizing Project Management Software such as MS Project or Primavera. Basic Microsoft Office skills and/or Google tools.
- Possesses a general understanding of contract administration, business principles and business law.
- Effective communication skills in English (mandatory) both verbally and in writing. Preferably command of the Dutch language. Other language skills are an advantage.
- Experience in Renewable Processes is an advantage.
