We are looking for a Senior Manager Projects to join our Maintenance Team at the Neste Rotterdam Refineries.
Purpose of the job is the delivering of one or more simultaneous portfolio projects in the FEL and delivery phase in terms of safety, quality, cos en schedule. You provide expertise in your own area(s) of specialism / in project management. As a Sr. Project Manager you plan and schedule project management work (e.g. review plans, deliver scope, schedule, estimates and deliverables) and execute project management activities.

For project definition and execution the project manager is responsible / accountable for safe and successful project execution of the projects assigned. Provides the expertise and resources to identify and manage project risks

During the early stages of a portfolio project, the Project Manager leads the internal engineering team. E.g. assumes the role of engineering manager

As engineering manager supports the effort to identify, evaluate, and select project alternatives by providing relevant project development and execution expertise
During definition and execution phases the Project Manager shall be accountable for overall delivery of assigned projects including, but not limited to, the following:

Manage the projects according to Neste operating model safely in compliance with agreed project scope, schedule, cost and quality.

Ensuring resourcing and leading the projects internal engineering, procurement and construction team in collaboration with IPEG Finland and Singapore.

Track project's scope, schedule and costs for changes and cooperate with Project Controller. Prepare change requests for any deviation and lead the approval process.

Maintain a strategic focus for the project with frequent interaction with the stakeholders: Development Manager, Project Owner/team, Line Manager and RP Portfolio Manager.

Ensuring project team members' understanding and commit to project scope, schedule and cost as well as driving for project team members' ownership of own scope.

Driving for project management best practices and efficient communication in order to create seamless and goal oriented teamwork in projects.

Sharing project management best practices within the organization

Ensure efficient communication and information sharing between IPEG disciplines and other project stakeholders.

Develop and implement mitigation plans for off-schedule/budget/deliverables, unanticipated occurrences and risks.

Ensure that project execution shall fulfill requirements of law and authorities and that all required permits (e.g. building permit) have been granted. Maintain awareness of safety and environmental requirements.

Reporting projects' status according to agreed principles.

Maintain project's data promptly up to date in Neste’s ERP-system.
Ensure timely completion of as-built documentation after MC of the project. -
Hand over the completed project to the project owner as agreed.
Keys to success in this role

M.Sc. or B.Sc. in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 7 to 10 years industrial related project management experience in an EPCM environment, with experience in all the different project phases but specifically in the definition and execution phases.
