We are looking for a Turnaround Lead Scheduler to join our Maintenance Team at the Neste Rotterdam Refinery.

 

The Turnaround Scheduler will be responsible for effectively and efficiently scheduling, resource optimisation for turnarounds and unit shutdowns. Ensures turnaround schedule is optimum and fully integrated to achieve key deliverables i.e. safety, cost, schedule, quality, efficiency, etc. in order to secure high operational availability.

  • Report scheduling status, estimated completion dates and preparation status to Turnaround Steering Team on a regular basis.

  • Document scope change and incorporate scope changes into schedule.

  • Document scheduling basis (i.e. productivity assumptions, key milestones, reporting needs, information process flow, planning input, integration strategy, etc.) and priorities to define scheduling process. Include the key structural elements of the schedule (i.e. resource coding, WBS, work order numbering, assumptions, key milestones, logic ties, hold points, etc.) and scheduling software interfaces. Set expectations for planning / scheduling team.

  • Establish schedule development milestones (baseline issue, optimization, critical path analysis, level, final schedule, etc.).

  • Lead constructability reviews, critical path analysis, schedule optimization reviews. Ensure all maintenance, investment projects & operations activities are fully integrated and optimized. Test productivity assumptions.

  • Tie hold points to inspection, QA/QC, PSSR and MOC activities.

  • Coordinate with Turnaround Lead / Ops lead and other stakeholders to determine daily schedule reporting needs (critical path, near critical path, S curves, productivity, etc.). Establish requirements for look-ahead processing.

  • Define and document field schedule progress updating and reporting strategy. Deliver schedule progress training.

  • Coordinate with the Operations to establish Pre and post SD schedule ,system handover schedule and Operations resources need.

  • Collaborates with Procurement and Execution Coordinators, provide supports in contracting strategy, bidding process (i.e. package preparations, bid requests and reviews, etc. Participate in contractors’ mobilization planning.

  • Member of Turnaround Core Team (lead by TA Lead, consisting of Cost Controller, Planner ,Coordinators (Inspection, QA, Operations, Materials, Contracts, Safety, Procurement, etc.)

 

Keys to success in this role

 

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is

  • Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification

  • Minimum 5 - 10 years in process plant turnaround and maintenance activities, specifically in turnaround planning and scheduling.

  • Knowledge of process plant production and maintenance, including contractors supervision & management

  • Knowledge of process plant turnaround execution and management, including contracting, safety & quality management. Familiar with turnaround phases, from initial long range planning through to post-turnaround review.

  • Project management knowledge, particularly in quick-paced, high intensity and time constrained turnaround environments. Experienced turnaround planner and scheduler, strong in scheduling tools – MS Projects, Primavera, SAFRAN, etc.

  • Familiar with contracts, supply agreements, terms & conditions, able to work & collaborate effectively with contractors, suppliers, vendors and partners.

  • Excellent people and communication skills and able to organize, deploy and manage resources effectively.

  • Ability to promote teamwork and possess interpersonal effectiveness. A good team player, builds effective cooperation and trustful culture, seek all collaboration opportunities.

  • Possess strong situational appraisal skills, able to prioritize actions with alignment to company values and goals and having sense of urgency.

  • Ability to coordinate and integrate varied activities with differing focus or objectives effectively in order to achieve common turnaround priorities and goals.

  • Strong work ethic with positive attitude and ability to make timely decision through good analytical process & problem solving.
