Development Engineer

 

to provide technical expertise and support our production, projects and business. The role is located in Neste APAC Innovation Center Singapore.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and capable person to strengthen the technical expertise in APAC Innovation Center. You are a key link between Innovation and pruduction organization in Singapore.

Your part in Neste journey

 

In your role you will 

  • Manage and participate in technology development and expert support projects related to renewable process technology

  • Plan, initiate and draw conclusions of laboratory scale test runs and support production site test runs and turnarounds  

  • Collaborate closely with business organizations, project teams, engineering studies and external partners to offer technical expertise.

  • Participate actively in task forces and cross-functional teams in a global technology development set-up

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the renewable products supply and production processes through your involvement in a wide range of initiatives

  • Impact the long term strategy for sustainable solutions

 
You will work in cross-functional teams with e.g. line managers and project managers as well as stakeholders in e.g. supply and production, and also with external partners. Our work combines accountability, cooperation, and the desire to develop and renew. Working safely at all times is essential to all of us. You will report to the R&D Manager, Feedstock and Pretreatment of APAC Innovation center.


Keys to success in this role

 

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from relevant field, e.g. chemical or process engineering 

  • 3-5 years experience in process engineering  in operation, process design or R&D, preferably in the field of oil refining or chemical industry, preferably in a relevant refining or chemical industry

  • Knowledge of renewable fuel processes (hydroprocessing, pretreatment) and unit operations, or in relevant industry sectors

  • Experience in process design including material and heat balance calculations, equipment sizing

  • Experience in planning, executing and reporting laboratory, pilot or plant scale tests

  • Excellent data handling skills

  • Systematic problem-solving skills with active solution seeking mindset

  • Techno-economical know-how

  • Ability to influence in a global matrix organization
