Inspection Engineer
to our Asset Management team in the Singapore Tuas Refinery.
Your role is to develop and execute of the site inspection program (i.e. RBI), and ensure the timely inspections of critical equipment and systems. This position provides essential support to the refinery’s Asset Integrity framework to obtain optimum availability and utilization of static equipment and piping and ensure compliance to local statutory requirements. This role also provides expert advice and engineering support to the different disciplines in the refinery on asset integrity matters. Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future
- Responsible for implementing the Asset Integrity framework for the site and ensuring relevant equipment compliance to local statutory requirement
- Technical subject matter expert for asset integrity issues. Provide technical recommendations & advise based on ASME codes and standards
- Provides technical support to the site. This includes providing troubleshooting efforts, work scope or job plan deliverables, and supporting Maintenance, Projects or Turnaround (TAR) activities as assigned.
- Provide the right TA/Shutdown inspection and maintenance work scope with relevant justification
- Initiate and raise Management of Change (MOC) for proposed improvement of piping/equipment
- Accountable for timely closure of NCR and MOC
- Ensure QA/QC documentation and ITP compliance to applicable codes, standards and specification.
- Conduct and lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures
Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role
- Degree in Mechanical / Materials Engineering.
- At least 10 years’ experience in Refinery and Petrochemical process technical environment. Prior Experience in Asset Integrity, TAs, Projects and Maintenance execution and Risk-based inspection is essential.
- Understand Operations, Maintenance and Engineering practices. Familiar with corrosion failure mechanisms in the refinery.
- Knowledgeable with petrochemical codes and standards such as ASME, API, NACE and various NDE methods.
- Having relevant certifications in API 510, 570, 653, AWS CWI/CSWIP is an advantage
- Relevant inspection skill - i.e. inspection methodologies & NDT, welding, corrosion management, RBI methodology, materials science knowledge.
- Competency in analysing trends and patterns, problem solving capability (knowledge in RCA)
- Knowledge in CMMS systems
