We are looking for you,

Maintenance Scheduler

to our maintenance team in Tuas Refinery.

You will focus on routine maintenance and Turnaround/Shutdown events. In this job you will work closely with Asset Management, Operation, Technical, contractors etc.

In our team, you will play a crucial role in managing resources in our daily maintenance works & events. This position is responsible for helping the organization achieve maintenance excellence/reliability improvement by driving an efficient daily schedule to manage maintenance works based on its priority and criticality. For major events like Turnarounds and Shutdowns, you will be responsible for creating competitive and optimized schedules for large scale events, driving schedule forecasts and highlighting potential bottlenecks for the TA steering team to prioritize in order for the event to be completed within the timeline.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future



BAU / TA MAINTENANCE 

  • Weekly Scheduling: Translating and freezing the maintenance workload into a weekly schedule by balancing priority, production conditions, and manpower.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Ensuring all relevant parties (Work Requestors, Planners, Execution Team, and Operations) are aligned and informed of the finalized schedule.

  • Resource Optimization: Guaranteeing resources are properly allocated and optimized to effectively eliminate idle manpower.

  • Predictable Large-Scale Schedules: Driving the achievement of a predictable "Big Picture" schedule for Turnarounds and Shutdowns.

  • Conflict Resolution (SIMOPs): Facilitating and addressing Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPs), conflicting activities using scheduling tools like P6 and related meetings.

  • Constraint Forecasting: Using P6 to predict and forecast constraints during execution, which enables critical business decisions and re-prioritization to ensure Turnaround/Shutdown activities stay within the Business Plan.



CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • KPI Management: Managing and driving performance against identified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve scheduling and overall efficiency within maintenance processes.

  • Responsible for working closely with team members and soliciting input from all team members on opportunities for improvement.

  • Provides feedback to stakeholders on the schedule barrier reporting, to improve schedule compliance and PM schedule compliance that lead to reliability improvements

  • Driving optimum resource by good schedule forecast and resource leveling 

  • Responsible for constantly looking for opportunities to improve cost effectiveness.



TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

  • Coach & guide team members & contractors on proper scheduling rules and accurate reporting

  • Forecast & Manage craft resources issues  (absenteeism, vacation, grievances, productivity, hourly performance evaluations)

  • Promote craft flexibility.

  • Identify and justify the need to adjust staffing levels by working with the Maintenance Execution Lead

 

OTHER

  • Develop step by step guidelines to guide team members on scheduling rules and accurate reporting.

  • Understand engineering works and/or assist to eliminate bad actors by repair, replacement, or re-engineering. Much of this will be to recognize repeat issues and understand the root cause of issues. To use Root Cause Analysis (RCA), whether it be for everyday troubleshooting or as feedback to engineers or production.

  • Understanding the maintenance budget and working with the PMCs and Maintenance Lead to meet these budgets. They should be able to identify and explain any discrepancy with their budget. Provide support to the Maintenance Lead for budget planning. Must demonstrate fiscal responsibility by being aware of and supportive of maintenance budget and cost performance expectations

  • Contributes to the material management strategy setup and update.



Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role

 

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering or related disciplines.

  • At least 5 years relevant experience in refinery and petrochemical industry

  • Experienced in turnaround planning and scheduling, strong in scheduling tools – Power BI, Primavera

  • Strong communication & eye for integration/implications pertaining to schedule

  • Good collaboration skills and able to work well with others

  • Strong collaboration skills and able to work well in teams.
