We are looking for you,

Mechanical Supervisor to our maintenance team in Tuas Refinery.

You will focus on delivering safe, flawless and timely execution for the Mechanical field Maintenance. In this job you will work closely with Asset Management, Operation, Technical, HSSEQ etc.

In our team, you will provide direction and supervision of Static, Rotating, Civil or Ad-hoc contractors. This position is responsible for helping the organization achieve maintenance excellence/reliability improvements by providing direction and supervision for the execution of tasks. Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future

 

MAINTENANCE EXECUTION & LEADERSHIP

  • Directly supervise and coach the field contractor team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.

  • Ensure that all maintenance and project work is executed safely and in full compliance with local authorities, industry standards, and company (Neste) rules and regulations.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations in the field, including resource allocation, task assignment, and daily job discussions.

  • Collaborate with Operations and Planners to jointly prioritize new work orders and ensure a smooth flow of activities.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for frontline troubleshooting and problem resolution in the field.

  • Attend daily operational and coordination meetings to provide real-time updates and align on priorities.

  • Oversee cross-discipline coordination to ensure that all principal maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

  • Resource and deliver all assigned Turnaround and Project maintenance activities, ensuring timely and on-budget completion.

  • Manage and oversee the productivity and performance of third-party contractors and service providers in the field.

Safety, Quality and Compliance

  • Uphold the highest standards of Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Cost on every job site.

  • Instill a personal safety culture within the team, promoting continuous care for the well-being of all personnel on site.

  • Actively participate in company (Neste) HSSEQ programs and ensure the field team meets all functional safety targets.

  • Enforce compliance with the MOC (Management of Change), PHA (Process Hazard Analysis), and PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review) processes in the field.

  • Ensure all documentation is maintained, history is captured, and feedback is utilized effectively to prepare for potential audits.

  • Ensure adherence to all technical assurance and maintenance procedures.

Continuous Improvement & Reliability

  • Solicit and implement feedback from the field team to identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

  • Contribute to the development of effective work procedures and maintenance effectiveness programs, focusing on eliminating low-value work and replacing it with vital tasks.

  • Provide direct feedback from on-site execution to the Reliability team and other stakeholders to optimize preventative maintenance plans and improve equipment reliability.

  • Work with Engineering to eliminate "bad actors" by identifying repeat issues, understanding their root cause, and recommending repair, replacement, or re-engineering.

  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for both everyday troubleshooting and as feedback to engineers or production.

Others

  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by understanding and supporting the maintenance budget and cost performance expectations.

  • Collaborate with PMCs and the Maintenance Lead to meet budget targets, identify, and explain any discrepancies.

  • Provide support to the Maintenance Lead for budget planning.

  • Contribute to the development and updates of the material management strategy.

 

Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role

 

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 

  • At least 5 years relevant experience in refinery and petrochemical industry

  • Prior Experience in Maintenance, Project Construction and/or TAs execution

  • Knowledgeable with international standards, petroleum /petrochemical plant equipment

  • Experienced in maintenance work control, planning, scheduling

  • Good communication skills with team work mindset

  • Responsible, strong ownership and safety-oriented mindset
