We are looking for you,
Operating Engineer
to our Operations team in Tuas, Singapore.
You will focus on assisting the development, optimizing, troubleshooting of plant process and equipment to achieve high operational utilization, availability, profitability, flexibility, process safety and overall safety. In this job you will work closely with Operations Manager. to operate integrated refinery safe, reliable and efficient.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future
- Responsible for the execution of the S&OP plan of the unit she/ he is in charge of
- Responsible for the monitoring of plant efficiency and provides (daily) instructions/ orders to the shift teams
- Responsible for the review and update of start-up, shutdown and operating guidelines or instructions and procedures.
- Responsible for Initiating and applying multi-disciplinary process design and control strategies in relation to processes and systems
- Responsible of finding and resolving different process limitations and optimising production to ensure high utilisation and availability
- Responsible for catalyst / absorbent etc. follow up and lead team to i.e. change out absorbent
- Responsible to monitor and optimise the day-to-day consumption of chemicals, additives and/ or any other consumables for the assigned units
- Responsible for the first line troubleshooting, optimisation and engineering support of the assigned unit
- Responsible for correct reporting of several daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports like; Utility reporting, KPI reporting etc.
- Responsible for optimisation on assigned unit’s contribution to the CPEI, Carbon footprint and energy efficiency of the integrated refinery
- Responsible for to facilitate/ participate in safety assessments like i.e. HAZOP, PHA
- Investigation lead of Incidents/Near miss investigations
- Key member and Responsible to drive the Act to Improve program for the Singapore refinery
- Member of the Operational Excellence team
- Responsible for correctness, review and improvement of assigned Operations NMS Work Procedures
- Responsible for the Operating Manual for the assigned units in charge
- Responsible as change manager in small optimisation/ improvement projects
- Responsible to review interlock bypass forms
- Liaison of Operations to 3rd parties/suppliers
Responsibilities in other processes
- Responsible as appointed Operations Engineering representatives at plant investment projects (PIPE)
- Responsible to be Operations Engineering representatives for PHA studies
- Responsible as Operations Engineering representatives other studies, projects
- Responsible for verification of invoicing variable production costs by tracking consumption of utilities/ chemicals of assigned units
- Responsible for improving the competency, knowledge retention of the Operations team with respect to the technology or technical aspects of the assigned units etc.
Keys to success in this role
- Minimum Bachelor in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in oil refining and petrochemical industries
- Strong interpersonal and planning skills
- High safety standard and strong influencing skills
- Good team player and positive thinking
