Researcher, Analytics
to our Analytics team in the R&D department in Neste APAC Innovation Center, Science Park II, Singapore.
You will focus on inorganic materials characterization and analytic; work including various solid and/or liquid materials analyses, project and R&D works, troubleshooting, and method development and validation. In this job you will work closely with other research specialists, research assistants, researchers, experts and project managers and line managers in cross-functional teams mainly from Technology & Innovation, and Production/Refinery.
In our team, the work is done independently, but support to others and collaboration is essential for our success. You will work engagingly with other teams, i.e Feedstock & Pretreatment, Organic (Analytics), Supply Chain, Quality Control, etc. Together with your expertise, we can do meaningful work to drive Neste forward.

Your role in our team

Introducing elemental and inorganic analytics to the APAC R&D center and being responsible for analyses of a wide variety of samples, analytical method development and contribute to maintenance of laboratory infrastructure.

Take part in the set up and the development of the analytical laboratory tasks, such as instrument installation, verification/validation and the equipment maintenance and investments.

Work in cross-functional teams with other researchers, development engineers and project managers from R&D and stakeholders in e.g. Renewable Products’ supply and the Production, and also with external partners. Our work combines accountability, cooperation, and the desire to develop and renew. Working safely at all times is essential to all of us.

Holistic responsibility of inorganic analytics activities, reporting, acting possibly as project manager, with R&D mindset.

Records raw experimental data and prepares spreadsheets for a review. Performs data analysis, interpreting and identifying substances and/or properties in material complexes.

Be the leading figure in APAC IC Inorganic team to mentor and lead the team into pursuing the best inorganic research analytic in the region.
Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role

M. Sc. / M. S. / Ph.D in Materials Chemistry / Chemistry / Inorganic Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry or a related field from a reputable university. For M. Sc. / M. S. candidate, extensive experience is a must.

A minimum of 6 years working experience with wide competence in inorganic analytics would be required.

Hands-on experience experience in inorganic chemistry, method development, proficiency testing, and solid/liquid materials characterization techniques including but not limited to;
-
ICP-MS/MS, ICP-OES, CHN, coulometry, XRD, XRF, SEM, FT-IR.

Experience in method development and validation.

Solid knowledge and experience in research and troubleshooting.

A subtle presentation skill: Adept at bridging the gap between high-level chemical analytics and actionable business insights, making the 'invisible' chemistry visible and appealing to all.

An experience and/or background in artificial intelligence / machine learning would be advantageous.

Fluent English language skills.

Responsible attitude, safety-oriented, can-do and R&D-mindset.
