Researcher, Feedstock and Pretreatment (F&P)
to join our F&P team in Neste APAC Innovation Center in Singapore.
We are seeking a highly motivated and capable person to join the F&P team. APAC F&P team is an essential part of the larger competence center of R&D Finland. An important part of the F&P team’s work is to develop purification technologies for Neste’s raw materials. The team members also participate in troubleshooting activities of our local refinery. In your role, you will
-
impact on development of the F & P laboratory of the APAC Innovation Center.
-
develop purification technologies for renewable raw materials, e.g. waste and residue oils and fats as well as other sustainable raw materials.
-
contribute to research tasks related to supply and production site support.
-
design, plan and supervise experiments followed by collecting, analyzing and reporting the data obtained.

actively participate in IPR creation and innovation work.

support long term strategy work for sustainable raw materials.
-
develop pretreatment related research partnerships in the APAC area.
You will work closely with Neste’s R&D in Finland and in cross-functional teams with other researchers, development engineers and project managers as well as stakeholders in e.g. Renewable Products’ supply and production. You will report to the R&D Manager, F&P of APAC Innovation Center.
Keys to success in this role

At least Master’s degree in relevant field, e.g. Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Biotechnology

At least 3 years relevant experience of experimental research
-
Chemistry and reaction knowhow, preferably related to fats and oils
-
Relevant research outputs such as scientific / technical publications or IPR
-
Excellent cooperation skills
-
Excellent communication skills in English, including presentation and report writing

Proactivity, can-do attitude and a high motivation to get things done
Other strengths we value

Experience in acting in international environment

Knowledge of technologies used for biofuel feedstocks purification

Knowledge of chemical processes’ waste water treatment

Previous work experience related to renewable oils and fats processing, particularly to pretreatment

Excellent data handling skills, e.g. Excel, Sheets, Minitab

Experience in IPR creation

Courage to express own views and give recommendations as well as to build bridges between different stakeholders

Relevant collaborative networks to companies, research institutes and individuals
