We are looking for you,

Senior Inspection Engineer

to our Asset Management team in the Singapore Tuas Refinery.

You will focus on developing and driving the site inspection program (i.e. RBI) and ensure the timely inspections of critical equipment and systems.In this job you will work closely with the various departments and global organization to develop and execute reliability strategies. This role is dedicated to support and accelerate the site Reliability Program.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future

Reliability & Availability

  • Responsible for implementing the Asset Integrity framework for the site and ensuring relevant equipment compliance to local statutory requirement
  • Lead refinery-wide inspection and integrity management programs.
  • Responsible for upkeep Reliability Risk Register for Piping/static equipment, ensure risk ranking are updated
  • Develop and implement long-term Asset Master Plans (AMP) for static asset aligned with refinery business objectives
  • Drive reliability improvement initiatives through proactive identification and mitigation of equipment degradation mechanisms.
  • Ensure RBI recommendations are effectively implemented and tracked.

TA Execution & Technical Support  

  • Provide technical recommendations & advise based on ASME codes and standards
  • Lead the right TA/Shutdown inspection and maintenance work scope with relevant justification
  • Conduct post-turnaround integrity reviews.

Continuous Improvement

  • Initiate and raise Management of Change (MOC) for proposed improvement of piping/equipment 
  • Initiate CAPEX project and go through project approval process with development team from feasibility study until implementation stage 
  • Accountable for timely closure of NCR and MOC
  • Conduct and lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures
  • As a bad actor champion for site's "Bad Actor" program, identifying, analyzing and eliminating bad actor static equipment

Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 10 years experience in Refinery and Petrochemical process technical environment. Prior Experience in Asset Integrity, TAs, Projects and Maintenance execution and Risk-based inspection is essential.
  • Understand Operations, Maintenance and Engineering practices. Familiar with corrosion failure mechanisms in the refinery.
  • Knowledgeable with petrochemical codes and standards such as ASME, API, NACE and various NDE methods.
  • Having relevant certifications in API 510, 570, 653, AWS CWI/CSWIP is an advantage
  • Relevant inspection skill - i.e. inspection methodologies & NDT, welding, corrosion management, RBI methodology, materials science knowledge.
  • Competency in analysing trends and patterns, problem solving capability (knowledge in RCA),
  • Knowledge in CMMS systems
  • Good communication skills and internal / external stakeholder management
  • Competency in reviewing and approving material selection for modifications, upgrades, or new projects to mitigate recurring corrosion or mechanical failures. 
  • Experience in developing RBI, equipment strategy in refinery
